01/24/2023: T-Mobile Data Breach

If you, your family, or your friends are T-Mobile clients – please be aware of the data breach they recently suffered, affecting 37 million customers.

Typically after these events, a (delete -d) affected individual might expect to see an uptick in phishing, fishing, and SMSishing activities.

It appears the incident occurred before Thanksgiving of last year, and among the information affected is customers:

Names
Billing Address
Emails
Phone Numbers
DOB
T-Mobile account number
T-Mobile lines and plan features

Knowledge is power – so again, remember the mantra…

Were you expecting this email/call/text, from this individual/company/entity/etc., with a link/attachment/request for action/etc.?

While Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses do not appear to be impacted in this 2022 breach, they were in the 2021 breach – so checks of our credit reports wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Remember, you can get one free credit report from each of the three bureaus every 12 months – at annualcreditreport.com – this is the only authorized FREE site.

Also, take advantage of any free credit monitoring available on your credit cards, etc. – I know that both American Express and Discover advise of new inquiries, etc. –
